The B-Side of My Mind

As i have mentioned in my older posts, i am going to make buko pie.. and the day has arrived. i made one last week ;-D i know i still have a lot improvement to do on my baking skills, especially on this particular pie..i think i did ok with my 1st try. everyone seemed to love it hehe. the taste was there but the look, is still something i yet to achieve one day. i have improved on my crust making skills though :-D I plan to bake another buko pie, maybe sometime around next week. Let's just see how that will turn out hehe

The next day, we (witness wide) had to go to SASS, Tamparuli to sing again because the school (SASS) was having it's annual Alumni Homecoming program. We were among the many singing acts that performed that day. Im not an alumni of the school, but my parents are so it was nice to see them meet their old friends and listen to their stories when they were younger hehe. I also met and old friend of mine, Mark who i knew since i was a baby. He was my first friend (or should i say, babyfriend?hehe) back when we were in the States. If you asked me how my weekend was, i can tell you that it was all about singing, singing, and singing! That friday night, KK SDA English Church had a Musical Concert at their new church and Me and church singing group, Witness Wide was one of the many group and individuals who were invited to sing at the event. Since i have ALL the time in the world, i decided to do some baking last friday. what did i baked? APPLE PIE! i had absolutely no trouble with the filling, but i did encountered some problem when it came to the crust. The verdict? well, because it WAS my 1st attempt.. the filling wasn't sweet enough and the crust was a bit thick and hard. Mom said maybe it was because i did more than enough kneading on it. Last night, after making dinner for the family i made another apple pie hehehe. I wasnt satisfy with the 1st one. This time around, for filling i used brown sugar instead of the normal white sugar. I still had problems with the crust :( thats why the crust doesnt look pretty hehehe. Guess i'll have to do more practice on it. After 2 attempts of apple pie making, i dont want to do another apple pie.. the next pie im going to do is BUKO PIE! (BUKO = COCONUT). My parents threw a thanksgiving party for me and my brother last monday (1st Sept 08).. i didnt invite any of my friends (other than church friends) because it was supposed to be a family & closest friends (of my parents) party only. That morning, me and mom went to Hyatt to pick up the cake that was ordered. My mom told them we're picking it up at 10 but it turns out that the lady wrote down on the paper 11 o'clock so we had to wait. So like it or not, we had to wait for 1 freaking hour. On the way home, dad call and asked us to run 1 more errand. OK, so i did it and i reached home at 12.30. I felt like i didnt want to attend the party.. i felt like a wreck. I had tummy ache, it was my first day of period, my shoulders hurts, and my right pointing finger was swollen. But i did get ready and since i promised mom early in the morning that im going to be happy that day, i dragged myself to the bathroom and took a cold shower and got ready :-D OK, im going to shut up right now...
