TMBT Certificate

Image
One of the many things that I like in participating in marathons besides the experience itself is collecting medals and certificates. I like to joke around with my friends saying those medals and certificates can be used to increase your "harga berian" hahaha! Nowadays, certificates are being sent electronically. I kinda miss getting the hardcopy certificate but thesedays everyone is "going green" and trying to reduce the paper usage so here we are, at the electronic age. But i guess it is a good thing.. saving mother earth and all.  I havent been actively running these days after TMBT. I know i need to keep up or else i will lose my momentum. But i think i have lost it already. Booo...  I have sent my trusty iPod Touch to get it's screen fixed. It was partially broken and i have been told many times to get it fixed before sweat or water gets in it. So I finally sent it in last week. The person in charge said i can come and get it by next week.

On travelling and 2013 resolutions

Image
I saw this on Pinterest and it striked me -- I miss travelling!!! I miss traveling! It has been awhile since i went on a real holiday some place far away. I have been busy with training for marathons this year and that is why i am unable to do so :( Even my trip to Boracay was cancelled due to training. boo hoo! Oh well, I just hope next year will be a really good year for me -- 2013!! These are just some of the things that I am hoping to achieve for next year. In short, my resolutions hehehe 1. Run a full marathon 2. Run a 50km Ultra Marathon 3. Climb Mount K 4. Visit Boracay!!! 5. Cliff dive 6. Backpacking across Asia 7. Pursue my Phd (Yikes!) 8. 9. 10. Get married (?!!) -- Haha.. who knows right? As you can see above i put get married in the list at number 10 because it isn't really a big priority on my list. I am in a relationship with a wonderful guy but emotionally and mentally, I am not there yet although i have been pressured just beca

TMBT Ultra Marathon 2012

Image
With Daphne, my running partner (before the flag off) One before the race begins On my way to KM25 Yeay! I did it! Another challenged conquered for this year. I have finally joined an Ultra Marathon that was held in Kundasang, Ranau. The category i signed up was 25KM but it was raised to 27KM but according to my GPS it was more than 28KM... I don't know which one to believe but I am just happy and relieved to cross the finish line.  What I now understand about Ultra Marathons is that it is way different than regular marathons. Different in a sense that it is more challenging, not just physically but also to your mental state. A friend of mine told me prior to the race "kasi kuat saja mental kau... buli tu". At first i didnt really understand what she meant by that but now I understand hehe. After the physical and mental torture last weekend, am i still interested in joining it next year? Hell yes. In fact, i probably will join the 50KM category.

Why Can't Love Stay The Same?

Image
I think everyone who has ever been in love can relate to this video. Everyone knows the first 3 months of a relationship is the honeymoon period. After that, comes the real deal -- Lovey dovey stuffs decreases, real habits of each partners will reveal. Things that used to be cute will seem annoying to you. At first they have all the time in the world for you. You are at the top of their priority list. But now, it seems like they dont even have time for you.  When you raise the question of "Why can't things be the same as it was in the beginning of our relationship?" people will always say that it is just how relationships are. If things arent the same anymore, where did they decided to change? and why? they got tired? or fed up? questions.. questions...

My little healthy mission

I am trying to lose some weight hopefully before the ultra marathon next month (1 month to be exact today!!!) because i feel like my body is too heavy for my height. I am 5"2 by the way. I also received some comments about  my body from a few people.. who asked "you work out but why do i see you not getting any smaller? you're getting bigger" I know the word "bigger" is just a polite way to say i'm fat! It is SO embarrassing to receive such comments.  So, instead of being mopey i did some thinking and i realized i eat out everyday! especially during lunch. I think that is the cause of my weight gain despite working out almost everyday. I have made a decision to limit my intake of eating out to 2 times a week only. It would be great if i don't eat out at restaurants at all! but that would be impossible :)  Today is the first day of my mission. I brought breakfast AND lunch to work today. Breakfast usually consist of muesli and today's lu

Wow, 11km in 1 hour 18 minutes? that is sort of like my best time ever! hahaha... i wasn't expecting to do so that is why i was surprised at my run this evening. I enjoyed this evening's run particularly because the weather was great, and i just revamped my playlist.

Lucky Tuesday

Photo copied from Hitz KK Facebook page     On Tuesday this week HitzKK cruisers were at Masterskill College. I was about to go out to the post office with April when they stopped us and a few students. They gave us the latest Bandwidth magazine, Tropicana Twister drink AND a complimentary GSC movie pass.  I love random giveouts... especially when i'm the one receiving it hehe.

Post-work runs make my evening

A Little Sweat Won't Hurt

Image
Yesterday's run. I had to cut short my run because i had to go to my friend's 1st Zumba trial class. This evening i aim to run 7km or 8km :) My first try at zumba. I dont know whether i was sweating like hog because of the post-run effect or because the place was really hot! kinda like sauna.. I dont think i was sweating because of the zumba moves because i have done moves that are more intense than zumba (i.e. taebo, bodycombat) but i had fun at it.. lots of friends i met last nite :)

THE Sticky Bun

Image
I was watching the Food Network this evening when the sticky bun recipe came up. It made me salivate, like seriously! She even beat Bobby Flay on the Food Network's Throwdown with this sticky bun. I found the recipe and again, I am gonna try it. I think there is like half a dozen of recipes that I am waiting to try.. Joanne Chang's famous stickybun It's already 9:11pm and I need to sleep early. Gonna wake up early tomorrow morning for my weekend run. See, after the Borneo International Marathon last May me and my friends signed up for the TMBT Ultra Marathon challenge but we signed up for the 25km. I don't think I'm ready to go beyond 25km yet hehehe. I hope this slight headache that I am having right now won't worsen by tomorrow morning or else I will probably have to cancel my run *fingerscrossed!* Feast your eyes on the stickybun.. I hope you won't be salivating on the picture haha!

I have purchased this book online 2 weeks ago, since then I have been anticipating to start reading this book. I first heard about this from facebook where my cousin posted a clip from youtube about DeVon telling Oprah about the Sabbath. At first I wasn't interested to watch the clip but after a week or so, I somehow learned that DeVon was the Vice President of Columbia Pictures in Hollywood and he's an Adventist? That made me go back to the clip that was posted by my cousin and I watched it til the end. That wasn't enough and so I researched about the book. After reading excerpts of it and feedbacks from people on the internet I decided that I am going to get that book.  If you're wondering what the book is all about, it is about: How to discover The Big Idea for your life How to take your career to the next level  How to recognize the signs God sends you that indicate when it’s time to move in a new direction How to stand firm on your Christian principles w

Pumice Stone Online Facebook Seller A Liar

Image
Seems like everyone is selling something on facebook these days. I came across this pumice stone picture that was tagged under a friend on facebook, when i read the comments I was shocked to learn that they were selling 1 pumice stone for RM9.90!!! And the testimonies that they tell on their comments were lies! They claimed that with only 1 rub all the rough, cracked heels were gone. If your heels aren't that cracked and it doesn't have any dirt between the cracks of course it might not be as difficult to remove as compared to the ones that are more serious. But the lady claimed her cracked, rough heels are serious.  What a liar. So people, don't believe in everything that people claim to be real on the internet especially in facebook. Do your research first before deciding on purchasing it.

The Baker in Me

Image
photo courtesy of Themodernapron.blogspot.com I am a REALLY big fan of cheesecakes and I found a really interesting recipe called "Salted Caramel Cheesecake" Don't you think it's just scrumptious? I do. That is why I am planning to try out the recipe.. as usual, I will let you all know how it turns out ONCE I've made it :) Below are some of the bakings in the past that I have done.. Carrot cake (before it was frosted with cream cheese) Supermoist double chocolate cake Chocolate fresh cream cake for Mother's Day Mini oreo cheesecakes The photos above are just some of the bakings that I've done. Sure I had my share of days where they didn't turn out they way I expected it to be and yes, I got dissapointed but that is when I get to think where did I go wrong so that the next time I won't do the same thing over again. I do sell my bakings but it is by order. See, baking is just for fun. However, if I could make some prof

Guess Who's Back!

Image
Yep. I am back!!! After a LONG absence on Blogger, I have decided to do REAL blogging. I kinda miss writing (or in this case, typing!) rather than just reblogging on Tumblr. I still keep my Tumblr though :) So what's up with my life since the long hiatus? well, if you'd like to know you'd have to tune back in.. I'll be doing loads of back posts these few days. Alrighty, gotta go now. Those papers on my desk aren't gonna mark by themselves, you know :) Me, April and Memel (March 2012)
